About Us
Who We Are & What We Do
Florida Georgia is a family business. We involve 4 generations on the farm and packing shed. Whether it’s Uncle Bill, Aunt Boot, or one of our grandchildren (Caitlin, Wimberly, Teal, or Sam), or anyone in between, there is always a job to do. After spending 48 years in the farm equipment business, I dreamed of producing a crop that could allow me to teach these kids how to enjoy spending more time outside and enjoy seeing fruit developing from bloom to box. And, at the same time, have a justification for owning the farm and making land productive. We planted our first grove of satsumas in 2014 and have added more acres and several other varieties every year since.
We normally have 4 varieties of satsumas, red navels, shiranui, hamlins, and lemons but this past winter was so harsh it really affected the crop. We do have juice and are proud to offer many Satsuma specialty products like jellies, syrup and salad dressings and are looking ahead to next season. We also assist other growers by sharing our mistakes and successes and hopefully prevent trainwrecks from happening in our area which we refer to as the “Cold Hardy Citrus Region”.
“Cold Hardy” fruit truly has a distinct flavor profile and as our customers tell us, it is very desirable.
